A warm welcome to The XXXIII Congress of the Nordic ORL Association in Gothenburg, Sweden May 31-June 3 2017. The theme of the Congress is Nordic Collaboration in ENT and the meeting will feature a number of interesting seminars and lectures from the entire field of our speciality with speakers from all the 5 nordic countries. We wish to extend a special warm welcome to our doctors in training who will find a number of hands-on mini courses to choose from.

We are honored to have Nobel Prize winner Arvid Carlsson talking about his achievements in discovering the role of dopamine in Parkinson´s disease, a disease frequently being assessed by ENT:s regarding speech and food ingestion. This years Gunnar Holmgren lecture will be given by Professor William (Bill) Coman, Brisbane, Australia who will share with us his vast experience in H&N cancer surgery.

Our scientific topics will include: Sleep disordered breathing in children-state of the art and future perspectives, How to become a Nordic Otorhinolaryngologist?, Beating the Head & Neck cancer by standardized treatment and collaboration, Acute vertigo- a challenge for ENT and other specialties, Quality registers in the Nordic countries- improving our results by continuous measurement and follow-up, Balloons in ENT- do they really do the job?, Cochlear implants- old & new indications- the Nordic experience and much more……

We also welcome the ENT-nurses from Sweden who will participate within the national Swedish ENT meeting that is combined with the Nordic Congress in 2017.

The XXXIII Congress of the Nordic ORL Association will take place in the heart of Gothenburg at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Center which is one of the newest and biggest venues in northern Europe. The social program includes “A night at the Gardens” and “the NOLF gala dinner” on walking distance from the venue. There will also be opportunity to visit Liseberg, the biggest amusement park in Sweden that is located next door as well as the Universeum Aquarium and rainforest museum and the World Culture museum.
